This research examines the dynamic intersections of migration, creolization, and identity formation in contemporary French Caribbean literature, focusing on works by authors such as Ernest Pépin, Maryse Condé, and Gisèle Pineau. It explores how narratives of displacement and cultural hybridity shape identity in postcolonial contexts.
Profile: Chrisan Blake is a doctoral candidate specializing in contemporary French and Francophone literature. She holds an M.A. in Translation Studies and is currently researching themes of migration and identity in Caribbean literature. Her academic interests include postcolonial studies, migration and its role in identity formation, as well as the intersection between history and literature. In her free time, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, exploring culinary traditions, and playing with her son.
