La relation entre la grammaire et les différents systèmes d’écriture est notoirement difficile. Ces deux aspects peuvent être conçus comme complètement indépendants l’un de l’autre ou alors comme étant dans une relation représentationnelle stricte, surtout en ce qui concerne les systèmes d’écriture alphabétiques phonographiques, qui, eux, envisagent de refléter la réalisation phonique de l’information grammaticale.

La difficulté de comprendre la relation entre grammaire et écriture est encore plus marquée si l’on considère des systèmes d’orthographe profonds dont fait partie l’orthographe française (et partiellement aussi celle de l’allemand). Les systèmes profonds ne représentent pas la prononciation exacte des mots ou morphèmes, mais reflètent leur structure morphologique et étymologique. Cela devient apparent si on considère des usages d’écrire qui se voient moins restreints par l’orthographe normative, comme la communication médiée par ordinateur, et en particulier les SMS (textos).

L’atelier se veut donc comme une rencontre entre des spécialistes de la réalisation - orale et écrite - des informations grammaticales, plus précisément de l’accord des participes passés d’un coté et de l’acquisition et de l’interdépendance des systèmes d’écriture et de texting/messagerie de l’autre. Ces thématiques seront abordées pour le français et pour l’allemand.

La participation à l’atelier est ouverte à tous les intéressés.

Grammar and writing systems are in a notoriously difficult relationship. They might be considered totally independent systems or in strict representational relationship, especially in alphabetic phonographic writing systems which aim (originally and partially) to mirrot the phonic realization of (grammatical) information. The difficulty to understand their relationship increases with deep orthographic systems such as the French (and partially also the German) one, which give priority to etymological and morphological consistency instead of mirroring the actual pronunciation of the different items and features, a fact which becomes visible when taking into account writing practices beyond strict normative usage such as computer-mediated communication, especially text messages (SMS). The one-day workshop aims thus to bring together specialists of the realization, oral and written, of grammatical clue information, more precisely (past participle) agreement on the one hand, and on the acquisition and interdependency of writing and texting, on the other, both for French and German.

Am 28.06.2011 hat der Schweizerische Nationalfonds ein Sinergia-Projekt mit dem Titel "SMS communication in Switzerland: Facets of linguistic variation in a multilingual country" für drei Jahre mit einem Fördervolumen von 1,7 Millionen Franken bewilligt (Hauptantragstellerin Elisabeth Stark, UZH; Mitantragsteller: Christa Dürscheid, Matthias Grünert, UZH; Marie-José Béguelin, Simona Pekarek Doehler, Université de Neuchâtel, Bruno Moretti, Universität Bern, Beat Siebenhaar, Universität Leipzig). Damit werden Forschungen zu grammatischen Eigenschaften von schweizerischen SMS, der sprachlichen Gestaltung von SMS in Dialekten der italienischen Schweiz und im Bündnerromanischen und des Code-Switching in schweizerischen SMS ermöglicht. Insgesamt können 7 Doktorierende für drei Jahre finanziert werden und so zusammen mit den Projektverantwortlichen und ihren internationalen Kooperationspartnern wesentliche Erkenntnisse über die sprachlichen Eigenschaften dieser omnipräsenten Kommunikationsform in der Schweiz erarbeiten.
